October 20, 2018
Ski season is definitely upon us and twentysomethings living in student apartments near MSU are definitely excited about the prospect of hitting the ski slopes once again. But as many of us know already, skiing can be really expensive even though it’s a fun way to kick back and relax during the school year.
To help Metropolitan State University and Denver college students find it easier to participate in their favorite winter pastime, we’d like to help by sharing the names of seven local Denver area ski resorts with them today. These resorts offer season passes that make it more than affordable for students to enjoy skiing and snowboarding whenever they have enough free time to hit the slopes.
With that said, we’ll now look at seven ski resorts offering student passes to Denver college students right now.
1. Winter Park Resort
Winter Park Resort is an excellent ski resort that isn’t too far from Denver. In fact, it’s only about 65 miles away to the northwest, and they have inexpensive college passes that are very affordable.
So, if you are an academic and can prove it, you can contact Winter Park Resort and let them know that you are looking for a college pass. At this time, their college pass is $399 for the season, which is $100 off of the regular pass for adults.
So, if you’re looking to capitalize on skiing excitement this winter, you should definitely check out Winter Park Resort and learn more about their affordable season passes for college students.
2. Monarch Mountain
Enrolled college students are definitely in luck because Monarch Mountain is offering an amazing discount for college students this year. In fact, their college pass is incredibly affordable since it only costs $289 for the ski season.
The resort is located near Salida, Colorado – not too far from Denver – and they have more than 100 discounted and free days of skiing at this exciting resort. The typical adult pass usually retails for $479, so you’re practically getting a half price discount if you take advantage of this wonderful opportunity.
Contact Monarch Mountain sooner rather than later to find out about this exciting college student discount and make the most of the upcoming ski season this year.
3. Loveland Ski Area
The Loveland Ski Area is the perfect ski area near Georgetown, Colorado if you’re looking to do some regular skiing this season. The best part about this region is that their season pass is very inexpensive at $309. You get 96 days’ worth of skiing during this time, and the pass is for those eligible between the ages of 15 and 22.
So, if skiing and snowboarding 32 partner mountains for 96 days sounds like it’s up your alley, you’re definitely going to appreciate this great deal. In fact, after you get a season pass you’ll have access to other great benefits and even further discounts.
4. Granby Ranch
Granby Ranch is an exciting place to go skiing because it’s only 85 miles northwest of Denver, and it has a great college discount for students. In fact, their discount is known as the “hooky pass”, which is definitely ideal for students looking to take some time off from the daily grind so they can get away and enjoy the slopes.
While this isn’t necessarily a season pass, you will get access to 50% off on lift tickets from Monday through Thursday during January and February if you are a college student. So it’s definitely a great deal and it’s certainly more than affordable if you can get away from school on a weekday to take advantage of this exhilarating opportunity.
Eldora is easy to get to in Boulder County for starters, and it’s also very economical for college students looking to ski and snowboard during the winters. They have a full college pass that currently retails for $369. This pass gives the holder the ability to ski and snowboard for an unlimited amount of time during the ski season.
Guess what? They also have a special college midweek pass that’s also great for students. This pass only costs $249, but it allows you to ski and snowboard for an unlimited amount of time on Monday through Friday.
To qualify for either of these deals, college students must attend full-time and they also have to be under the age of 26. You’ll need to present your class schedule while buying the pass to prove that you are a college student.
6. Echo Mountain Resort
Many Denver college students appreciate Echo Mountain Resort for its great skiing and snowboarding as well as its awesome college pass discount. In fact, they even dropped their college ski pass price by an additional $20 this year, so it’s only going to cost college students $229 to ski at this beautiful resort during the ski season this year.
In order to qualify, each student must have a copy of his or her recent transcript or a valid student ID. If you do not have either of those things, they are not going to sell you the discounted pass, so please keep this in mind.
7. Copper Mountain
Copper Mountain is also a favorite amongst college students because it’s a great place to ski and their college pass is only $389. With this pass, you can ski and snowboard for an unlimited amount of time during the ski season.
